Otter Mom And Her Baby - a photo on Flickriver

I thought for sure this little family would run away as soon as I came close to the gazebo they were under. I watched them digging around in the dirt for a little while and then they were so curious about me they came out! I couldn't believe these two stuck around for so long and let me take pictures of them. (I almost forgot to take pictures, cuz I was so excited watching them!) I just sat there as still as I could, so I wouldn't scare them. They were so curious that they walked up to within 4 feet or so of me, just to check me out. I was surprised at how relaxed they were with me sitting so close to them. They are probably about 7 feet away or maybe a little closer here.... Usually when they see me watching them swimming in the pond they bark at me and swim away!
I'll post more when I get time, but wanted to get at least one up! The previous picture shows where this was taken.
