Little copse with goshawk - a photo on Flickriver

The white goshawk, accipiter novaehollandia, is found only in Tasmania - predominately in the North West of the state. It is a rare and endangered species and I have seen only two. On the first occasion I was photographing this little copse when one flew overhead and disappeared before I had a chance to catch my breath. 

At home, several days later, I heard a very loud and musical bird call and hurried outside to see this magnificent creature perched on my neighbour's deck railing. She remained long enough for me to get my camera and take a shot, then was gone. I like to imagine that it was the same bird, allowing me a second opportunity to capture her beauty where I had failed previously. It is the only time I have moaned over the limitations of my camera, but I have done her as much justice as I am able, and returned her to a habitat where she is queen.
