Skyward Kites, Haulover Beach, Miami, FL

On a recent trip to Miami I rented a car and stored my KAP gear in the trunk. The trunk was cramped and while moving things around I placed a piece of heavy luggage on top of the kite and broke a spar. A few days later I was driving past Haulover Beach and saw all of these kites flying near the road. I pulled over to check it out. The kites were being flown by Dan Ward. He had them anchored in various spots near his kite store: Skyward Kites. The shop is a trailer parked on the grass between a marina and Haulover Beach. Dan is a great guy and helped me out with the Triton. He didn't have a replacement spar that was long enough, so he spliced the broken spar together with a larger fiber glass tube and some gorilla glue. The restored spar works like a charm! Many thanks to Dan for his help!
