Saddlebag Panorama

The Saddlebag lake lake area is quite unique. Nestled amongst the high flanks of the Sierras outside of Yosemite are quite a few enchanting glacial lakes in cirques and depressions left from the formation of these high peaks.

An easy 8 mile loop (albeit at an average elevation of 1000ft (over 3000m) covers the many lakes of the Twently lakes basin and gives a great vista of the surrounding peaks. It also gives access to some scenic fishing spots.

It is a stunning place to backpack and get some sunset shots - something I hope of doing before the end of the summer here.
