2 meteors [Draconid Meteor Shower, 2011]

            Shot a few hundred frames on this meteor hunt, at a fairly high ISO. The abbreviated streak in the top middle of the frame is escapee on this image--there are two on the following image in the stream--it wasn't apparent until after a close inspection, in a dark room no less. Seeing the large one personally only reinforces the weird feeling that, even having set up in the dark and gotten a nearly level horizon, that I actually caught one I saw...

There are hundreds of images from this shoot and I've found 3 with strikes visible in the first slideshow pass, lost one, rediscovered these two after about a week of searching, and I don't have access to a planetarium... A long way of explaining that when other meteor shots are discovered in the coming months and years they'll appear in the stream, and I may revisit these with better noise reduction techniques when I find them. 

On another processing note, these didn't show up very well on an sRGB monitor so this is the result of some levels manipulation and basic brightening. The meteor streaks themselves are a bit blown and I may revisit the toning.
