Reed Bunting (Emberza schoeniclus) - a photo on Flickriver

            A look back to last year and the prospect that it won't be long before I get opportunities like this again.

This was taken on 5 acres of scrub where I have access for photography. I have photographed 4 species of deer on this tiny piece of land, including a huge Red Stag.  (I have no idea where he came from).

The diversity of habitat ensures a great variety of species. The tiny adjoining wood has seen nesting Hobby and Sparrowhawk. In the winter we are visited by a Merlin and sometimes a fly-over Ringtail Hen Harrier. There is a pair of Kestrels every year and of course, the ubiquitous Buzzard.

My good friends, Paul, Andy and Bob might dispute the presence of Buzzards. Most of my images of Buzzards were taken here, although they seem to leave the county when they try for them.

Don't give up lads. It will happen.
