Dinorwig Welsh Mountain Goat kid - a photo on Flickriver

            Well, I reckon this is pretty special. Having spent anything up to seven hours exploring Dinorwig slate quarry on each of the 20+ visits I have made in the last handful of years I've always tried to see the Welsh Mountain goats. But they are elusive, avoiding humans where possible. After all they are wild. But today finding this mum had just produced her kid, probably within the last hour or less, was quite an event. I've always thought Dinorwig quarry is stupendous. I am totally confident I will have even more special times to look forward to there, but today, seeing this goat kid was stand out special.

Most of the time Mum put herself between the kid and I and I didn't want to upset her at that sensitive time so I kept my distance and just about managed a picture of Dinorwig's newest mountain inhabitant. What a little beauty!
