The shenanigans you see in this batch were originally inspired by the Gilbert & Sullivan Operetta THE MIKADO which took Europe and the Americas by storm for several decades during the last part of the 19th century, and the early part of the 20th Century. Other plays having a "Geisha" theme were also popular.

Even when such plays weren't being performed, KIMONO COSPLAY (Costume Play) still had it's place at parties and the photo studio. Did anybody really care how accurate these "Kimonos" and "Nihon Gami" (Japanese Hairstyles) really were ? Hell NO ! They were having too much fun to care !!!

We shouldn't care either.

However, members of the IMMORTAL GEISHA Website are hereby granted special permission to roll your eyeballs and have a heart attack while observing the kitsuke of these sweet and lovely GAIJIN GEISHA --- including the ones that have accidentally ended up looking like prostitutes !
