WHITE-NECKED JACOBIN (hummingbird) male Florisuga mellivora. This male White-necked Jacobin is hovering in front of the leaves and flowers of shrubs during a light afternoon rain at 3:36 PM on March 3, 2016 at our house in Mindo in northwestern Ecuador .

The White-necked Jacobin belongs to the family Trochilidae and is found from southern Mexico south to northern Bolivia and Amazonian Brazil. It also lives in Trinidad and Tobago.
