Harz, nähe Brocken, April 1990
Nach dem die Mauer fiel wurde ich Grenzgänger und überwanderte den Brocken im Harz. Die Grenze war nur an einigen Stellen durchbrochen, wie hier auf dem Foto. Ein paar Monate vorher hätte ich in die Mündung einer Kalaschnikow geschaut; doch es ist der Sucher meiner Lomo, mit der dieses Foto bei frostigen Temperaturen im Todesstreifen entstand. Keine hochwertige Aufnahme, aber eine große Geschichte mit Erinnerungen. Am Gerät gab es keinen Selbstauslöser, so musste mein Rucksack herhalten.
Apropos Lomo: Der Apparat landete ein Jahr später auf dem Müll (wie blöd war ich nur!) nachdem ich sie gegen eine japanische Pocketkamera tauschte. Was damals als grottenschlechte Bildqualität galt wird heute als Kult verkauft. Mit einer SRL schleppte ich mich bei solchen Touren nicht ab.

After the Wall fell, I was wandering the frontier and Brocken. The border was only broken in some places, like here in the photo. A few months ago I would have looked into the barrel of a Kalashnikov, but it is the finder of my Lomo with which this photo was in freezing temperatures in the death strip. No high-quality recording, but a great story with memories. On the device, there was no self-timer, so my backpack had to serve.
Speaking of Lomo: The apparatus landed a year later in the garbage (how stupid I was only!) After I traded for a Japanese pocket camera. What seemed at the abysmal image quality is now sold as a cult. With SRL I dragged myself from not at such speed.
