BIOGRAPHY

Marine Le Guen - French student of the Ecole Européenne Supérieure des Beaux Arts (EESAB) of Quimper, and of Psychological Licence by distance in Toulouse.

Borned in south of France from a Catalan mother and a Breton father, shared between two strong and different cultural identities.

Nature lover probably because of a childhood spent between the Mediteranean sea and the Pyrenean mountains, and also the green forests of Bretagne.
Drawer and painter since I was able to hold a pen or a brush, but not a very good one when I was 3.

Traveler addict because of my mother since I was enough old to understand the world around, and still feeding it by my own since France left me cross alone the borders of the country.

Photographer since i had enough monney to buy a good camera that can help me to keep what my eyes see. I like all the way of expression, even if my favorites to work with still painting, drawings, photography, and a bit of sculpture.

My artistical work is questionning the relationship between the humans and their environement, natural or the one that they built. I also like the psychanalytic approch of human's thoughts, works around dreams and unconscient, that I try to experiment through myself.

I found a lot of contrasts in Venice between the touristic part of the city that still well conserved, and some parts of the city that starts to fall in pieces, like old souls that try to survive even if the interest of people forgot them. And I found these places at least as beautiful as the well conserved parts of the city, because they have an identity, a history and kind of poetry inside.

What will happen if, because of all the environemental problems in Venice, it continues to degradate the buildings and change the city soul? And how will look like all these beautifull buildings that Venice try to preserve if they fall in pieces like some parts of Venice nowadays, been abandonned and stay alone face to nature?

This painting is like a post-apocalyptic view of la Chiesa della Salute of Venice, where nature take place on the church in ruins.

It's an idea about the future of Venice, about the health of the city. I choosed to represent this church because it's a famous church of Venice, but also because its history refers to the health amelioration in the city.

I tried to give to this place a dramatic, but poetic interpretation of its possible future.
