Here is the second of the images from the Marginal Way.

This is actually one of a series of long exposure bracketed shots that I used in a pretty over the top HDR a couple of years ago. In my mind I had decided that I wanted to get back to this spot and take a long exposure black and white but the tides have to be very specific to fill this channel here and I could never get the timing right. As I was going through images the other night I don't know what I was thinking, I already had the shot on my hard drive it just needed different processing...

This is just about the polar opposite of how I had it before and it kind of shows how my tastes have changed over the last couple years.

While processing this image I also feel justified now in having spent thousands of dollars on a 24-70 and 70-200 that covers the same ground as my old kit lens. I like this image a lot BUT at full size there is a tremendous difference in the sharpness and detail in the rocks between the 18-200 and the lenses that I use today.

Hope to be out to grab some new images soon. Maybe even some color!
