Il Budello di Alassio - a photo on Flickriver

Alàssio è un comune italiano di 11.004 abitanti della provincia di Savona in Liguria, il settimo della provincia per numero di abitanti. Il comune è situato sulla costa della Riviera di Ponente tra Capo Mele e Capo Santa Croce ed è conosciuto come centro turistico e per l'attrezzato porticciolo "Luca Ferrari". Dista dal capoluogo circa 51 km.
La fondazione di Alassio risalirebbe al X secolo circa quando, in prossimità della chiesetta di Sant'Anna ai Monti, sorse il primo nucleo e altri nuclei familiari si stabilirono sulla collina retrostante presso l'attuale borgata Madonna delle Grazie, nel luogo conosciuto da allora come Castè.
