The female Sunbird! - a photo on Flickriver

            The scarlet-chested sunbird (Chalcomitra senegalensis) is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family. It is found in most of Africa south of the equator. 
It generally prefers mixed open savanna woodland, thornveld and coastal scrub. It has adapted well to the changes of habitat caused by humans, as it is common in parks and well-wooded gardens.

This beautiful female scarlet-fronted Sunbird was photographed busy sucking nectar on a game drive around Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya.
