Una "joya" del románico en la iglesia de San Esteban de Ribas de Sil.

El retablo de piedra de la Iglesia de San Esteban es un ejemplar único en su género. En la década de los años cincuenta del siglo pasado, con motivo de unas obras de restauración en el Claustro de los Caballeros, se encontró empotrado en el lienzo occidental de la segunda planta, recubierto de una espesa capa de cal. El bancal pentagonal mide dos metros y medio de longitud y veintidós centímetros de altura. Las figuras del Salvador y los Apóstoles aparecen de pie y de frente, empequeñeciendo a medida que se alejan del centro. Un arco de medio punto liso cobija cada una de las figuras. Se supone de mediados del siglo XIII.

The stone altarpiece of the Church of St. Stephen is a unique specimen in its genre. In the decade of the fifties of the last century, on the occasion of restoration works in the Cloister of the Knights, it was found embedded in the Western canvas of the second floor, covered with a thick layer of lime. The pentagonal bench is two and a half meters long and twenty-eight centimeters high. The figures of the Savior and the Apostles appear standing and facing, dwarfing as they move away from the center. A smooth half-knit arch shelters each of the figures. It's supposed to be the middle of the 13th century.
