A Colourful and Vibrant World - a photo on Flickriver

A stolen posed shot I captured at the Glasgow Mela 2018 in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow.

These colourful and vibrant performers were posing for a couple of official photographers when I stole the chance for a shot, along with a few others, utilising my 70-200mm lens to fill the frame. I had to go for the widescreen crop to remove the crouched heads of two photographers but I still love the resulting shot.

The Glasgow Mela is Scotland's largest multicultural festival and it was colourful and vibrant, as you would expect. I, though, was sadly disappointed. The venue had plenty of much needed shade in the park but for me it was too small for the volume of people there. The area surrounding food kiosks and the walkways between areas were crammed shoulder to shoulder and that made photography almost impossible. Enjoy!
