It's official: The Book - a photo on Flickriver

Late last year, a small local publisher (Kleine Uil, specialising mainly in poetry and regional interest books) enquired whether I would be interested in having a book published of kite aerial photographs I had taken in the North of the Netherlands.

There had been a number of people before, who had said "you should publish a book!", but the idea didn't appeal to me. I just want to fly my kite and take aerial photographs, that's what I enjoy. Publishing a book is not my hobby. So the offer of this publisher to do most of the work for me was quite welcome.

The top half of the image above is the cover of the publisher's late 2012 catalogue. I was surprised to find that of all the possible choices, they had gone for a front-and-back spread of one of my images.
The bottom half is the write-up in the catalogue. Dutch readers can decipher the text on the original image.

The publishing date of the 144-page tome has been set at 15 November, 2012, just in time for Sinterklaas and Christmas. Get your pre-orders in now, before they're all gone!
