白手長臂猿

            白手長臂猿 White-handed Gibbon 【學名：Hylobates lar】靈長目 / 長臂猿科。又稱：白掌長臂猿。屬瀕臨絕種保育類野生動物 。

主要分佈於泰國、馬來半島、蘇門達臘北部、緬甸及雲南邊界等地的熱帶雨林中；其該物種的模式產地在馬六甲。

雌雄同色，體型差異不大，全身長有濃密的毛，毛色變化很多。其最大特徵為臉的周圍和手、腳呈白色。

白手長臂猿屬樹棲性的動物，於白天活動，經常利用長臂快速擺盪穿梭林間，一次擺璗的距離可長達3公尺，活動快速且敏捷。

白手長臂猿是領域性強的動物，有固定的棲息處，成員以一個家庭為單位；而每一個家庭包括一對成猿及牠們的兒女。
