In attendance: 1 x Shoeburyness, 1 x Rochford, 1 x Leigh, 1 x Southend, 1 x Southend (ALP)

The roof of a pub has been completely destroyed following a fire at the property in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 23 October).

When crews arrived they reported the roof of the pub, which measured approx 8m x 10m, and the first floor was completely alight.

Firefighters extinguished the fire by 06:45hrs. One adult and two children who suffered smoke inhalation were left in the care of the Ambulance Service.

An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.

*Update* The initial fire investigation have suggested the cause of the fire was accidental.
