The Weir At Last !

            After almost twenty years living in Claudy, (that must at least make me an honorary local), I finally managed to make it to The Weir !!

Spurred on by a late night, after hours conversation with Cathy and Brian, in Macon's - in which I was the only sober participant. I think. Feckit I actually can't remember - I was adamant that I'd visit the, feckin' Weir if it kilt me. 

I hadn't planned on visiting it quite as soon as today, however as I drove past the general area, I noticed a single bed matress at a gateway (which I could only assume was there to assist enthuastic fishermen over the main gate, as the wee "kissing gate" at the side - that's the actual name - look it up - was chained shut.) 

Anyways, thon matress - I made a run at it, double somersaulted over the main gate, finished with a perfect stuck landing, flipped a bird at the chained up "kissing gate", and proceeded to the Weir - Instantly one of my new favourite places in Claudy, although next time I'll be wearing wellies as I ruined my slip on tassel loafers !!

(BTW - waited on the Main Street from 7am until 9am on Sunday morning as Brian had promised to be my guide, but he was a no show :-) :-) )
