Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge

On Oct 17th I had the opportunity to enjoy a guided hike on Bitter Creek NWR. Bitter Creek, an element of Hopper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge Complex, is normaly closed to public use. We were extended an invitation to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week. Bitter Creek NWR was established in 1985. It's 14,097-acres encompase parts of Kern, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Counties, and was chosen due to being a traditional feeding and roosting habitat for the California condor.

This is an excellent public spot to view Condors.
