            The Mask

The Missus had some surgery awhile back and in preparation for that, they prepared this mask in order to keep her head as immobilised as possible. There are no eye holes and no orbits to reflect the eyes, and the nose is a bit wacky, with it being pointed like that of a witch, but the rest of it is an accurate representation of her profile, especially the forehead and chin. 

It was sitting around the house for awhile until some artist friends decided it needed decorating. This just after it won a reprieve to stay in the house while I contemplated what to do with it. Said artist friends -- God bless 'em all -- added some flowers and other costume jewelry to the mask, and now it sits in a prominent place.

I've been thinking about covering over the frame (and fixing the nose) using some paper mache and a layer of plaster, and then seeing what I could do with the eyes.
