Wolverhampton Top Lock Cottages - a photo on Flickriver

            Lock keepers cottages located at the top lock (Lock 1) of the Wolverhampton 21 which lowers the Birmingham Main line canal from the 473 ft Wolverhampton Level to join the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal at Aldersley Junction.

The cottages which are near Broad St Basin date from the late 18 Century, but the bay window is a more recent addition and was added in the late 1970's

The single story building at the far end was once the site of an independently financed mission room. The rooms were demolished and the current building erected which was occupied by Sablon Welding Company produced ornamental ironwork, eg, gates & Railings.
