Dockweiler State Beach is just below the end of the runways for LAX and the Hyperion Sewage Treatment Plant. It is the only beach in Los Angeles County that allows bonfires. It is the only beach beach that does not have local residents becasue of LAX.

This main entrance is at the end of Imperial Highway the I105 freeway, both of which flow through the heart of gang territory in Los Angeles. The facilities are always vandalized and gun fights between rival gangs are not uncommon. It is usually fine to traverse the coastal bike path here in the daytime, but this whole beach is best avoided in the evening.
