Not the Seychelles - a photo on Flickriver

Not the Seychelles

            ...but rather Germanys Baltic Sea coast at the Darß peninsula. This place is not as accessible as most of the surrounding areas, making it a quiet spot at daytime and even more at sunset. Erosion is causing trees to fall off the cliff line from time to time and mostly they remain there for quite a while - providing stunning views at sunset time.

Shooting this low (Camera Body about 5cm above the water) with a tripod requires an awkward looking setup. The Irix 15mm lens handled this backlit scene quite well - despite having the reputation of producing some awful flares (which I had on other images ;) ).

A few moments later we enjoyed a beer sitting on the neighboring tree while watching the blue hour progress.
