She Walks In Beauty like the night (Lord Byron)

Just before Christmas Momirlan issued me with mini challenges to match literature with images. There's been one on a theme by the Strugatsky brothers and another for the famous frog haiku by Mitsuo Basho. But then he raised the stakes on me here, by forcing me to do a portrait for part of a Lord Byron poem. I don't do portraits often....

Anyway, here's my attempt and here's the text of the Byron poem:

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies,
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meets in her aspect and her eyes

Thanks Momirlan for these challenges - they really are good fun.

The shot I've used is of a Japanese dancer leaving the stage at a recent Tokyo Day event in London's Vincent Square, organised as part of the city's bid for the 2016 Olympics. There's a short video of the dancer in action here - the picture was taken at about 5 minutes and 12 seconds :))
