Sumarnótt í Ölfusi - a photo on Flickriver

Just arrived home after a week course in Bromoil, taught by David Lewis who has been perfecting his technique over many decades. Bromoil is one of the rarest of the old photographic printing processes and stems from the early 19th century (Text from David on Bromoil: www.phsc.ca/bromoil.html). I'll post a couple of images from the course soon, it's a slow process and right now the prints are being flattened out.

We stayed in a beautiful setting in Ölfus with horses and hens in our backyard. Two of the nights there was beautiful 'dalalæða'* crawling in the valley just above the ground.

*Dala-læða = Valley-sneak - fog that crawls just above the ground.
