Least tern trying to incubate - a photo on Flickriver

            I was fortunate to join a once-a-year bus tour of the Least tern breeding colony at the old Alameda Naval Air Station yesterday. It was very hot and the birds were stressed. We were kept far away,as the birds' well-being and protection from noise and disruption is the highest priority. It took 840mm. of lens/tele-extender to get this photo.
