Ossuary Of The Ancients - a photo on Flickriver

            So I have finally posted the first image from our recent trip to Cornwall. This is Trethevy Quoit, also known as the Giants House, considered to be the best preserved quoit in Cornwall and one of the most impressive of its type in Britain. I would certainly agree with that, it is truly a magnificent structure and you cannot help but feel the history that emanates from this site (as with most of this area of Cornwall). Miranda assures me that there is strong, unpolluted energy here, no doubt magnified by the ley line which is supposed to run near this site. 

Whether you believe this or not, you cannot help but leave a place like this without some degree of self reflection and wonder about our fundamental nature, purpose and essence of being. I also left with a greater respect and awe of the sheer physical and mental determination of our ancients  in their endeavor to honor the ancestors.

Trethevy Quoit is located near St Cleer, on the edge of Minions moor, Cornwall (Kernow).

This is a three image HDR, processed in Photomatix Pro. I used Nik software for noise reduction, in Aperture 3 I used the retouch brush to remove some power lines to the distant right of the Quoit and a barbed wire fence to the left. In PS CS4, I applied levels and curves adjustment. I also applied a vibrancy adjustment to the sky to bring out more of the color. An unsharp mask was applied and then erased from the sky and the grass either side of the cut grass path. The image I created represents a combination of what I saw and what I felt. 

This is a place worth visiting with, or without,  a camera :))
