I've never really been disturbed by my own work before. I've thought something was creepy and maybe even strange, but this is just unsettling. It started out with Sarah sitting down, and merged all the photos together, etc. but then I realized it was super boring and really similar to one of Sarah Ann Loreth's pieces and I didn't want something that looked like a blatant (and not nearly as beautiful) copy.

Then I remembered some photos I had taken of the sky the other day during sunset and I decided to do some layering. As I did that, I realized the clouds looked a lot like a cloud from an atomic bomb. I was then struck with this unsettling feeling and was reminded of Hiroshima. So, I google image searched Hiroshima (don't do it!), and I was unseated by the devastating photos of victims and destruction. Sure, I'd seen the photos and videos before, but not looked at them which such a detailed eye.

I then decided to layer a photo of some of the victims over it (you can hardly see it) and a photo of the actual bomb going off. I'm tempted to explain some of the symbols of things (like the headwrap, etc) but I'll leave that up to you.
