            I riti della Settimana Santa di Procida rappresentano uno degli eventi religiosi più importanti che si svolgono nell'isola. Il ciclo di festività si apre con la cerimonia della domenica delle Palme per culminare con i riti del Giovedì e del Venerdì santo, per poi concludersi nel giorno di Pasqua.
La processione del Venerdì santo di Procida è una tradizione antichissima, risalente alla fine del Seicento. Nella processione, organizzata dalla "Confraternita dei Turchini" (fondata nel 1629 dai Gesuiti) i giovani di sesso maschile dell'isola, vestiti della classica "veste" di "confratello", portano a braccia dei carri allegorici (detti "misteri") di carattere religioso per un percorso fisso, dal borgo più antico di Terra Murata fino al porto della Marina Grande. I "misteri" (spesso di buon livello artistico) vengono preparati ogni anno dagli stessi giovani dell'isola destinati a portarlo; generalmente nessuno al di fuori dei costruttori dovrebbe (almeno in teoria) vederli prima della processione, e subito dopo vengono quasi immediatamente smontati o addirittura distrutti. Chiude la processione una statua del Cristo morto opera dello scultore napoletano Carmine Lantriceni. Qui il suono della tromba e del tamburo che caratterizza il passaggio della processione.

The rites of the Holy Week in Procida represent one of the most important religious events that take place in the island. The cycle of festivities begins with the ceremony of Palm Sunday and culminating with the rites of Holy Thursday and Good Friday, and ends on Easter Sunday.
The procession on Good Friday of Procida is an ancient tradition, dating from the late seventeenth century. In the procession, organized by the "Brotherhood of Turchini" (founded in 1629 by the Jesuits), the young men of the island, dressed in the classic "look" of "brother", leading to the arms of the floats (called "mysteries") of religious character for a fixed route, from the oldest suburb of Terra Murata to the port of Marina Grande. The "mysteries" (often of good artistic level) are prepared annually by the young people of the island designed to carry; generally anyone outside of the manufacturers should (in theory at least) to see them before the procession, and almost immediately after they are removed or destroyed. Closes the procession a statue of the dead Christ by the Neapolitan sculptor Carmine Lantriceni. Here the sound of the trumpet and the drum that characterizes the passage of the procession.
