            La Barrancosa

La Barrancosa toma su nombre de la laguna homónima que tenía la particularidad de contar con barrancas muy barrosas. En 1863, en la estación La Barrancosa, que era asiento del juez de Paz Tomás Álvarez, quedaron sentadas las bases para la fundación del paraje.
Al inaugurarse el tramo ferroviario Saladillo/General Alvear, se abrió el servicio de estación el 1° de octubre de 1897, por lo que se toma esa fecha como hito fundacional.
En torno a la estación, se instalaron un almacén de ramos generales, una herrería, una peluquería y comercios de diferentes rubros.
Hoy funcionan en el paraje el Jardín de Infantes N° 6, las Escuelas Primarias 21, 34 y 40 y el CEPT N° 36 y la capilla de La Santa Cruz
El edificio de la vieja estación sigue en pie, con la esperanza de que algún día pueda volver a tener su esplendor.

La Barrancosa

La Barrancosa takes its name from the homonymous lagoon that had the peculiarity of having very muddy ravines. In 1863, at the La Barrancosa station, which was the seat of Justice Tomás Álvarez, the foundations were laid for the foundation of the site.
When the railway section Saladillo / General Alvear was inaugurated, the station service was opened on October 1, 1897, so that date is taken as a founding milestone.
Around the station, a general store, a blacksmith shop, a hairdressing salon and shops of different items were installed.
