Praia do Malhão is a beach surrounded by a sand dune on the Atlantic coast in the south-west of Portugal. It is part of the 75,000-hectare "Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park", which stretches for about 80 km between Porto Covo in Alentejo Litoral and Burgau, west of Lagos, in the Algarve.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Algarve in the high season, you will find here a quiet and beautiful spot, after a 90-minute drive from Porches. Since this natural beach is located in the middle of the natural park, there are also no restaurants, shops etc. Clearly fewer people are lost at this beach, so you can relax here wonderfully.

A wooden path built on the dunes invites you to walk along the beach and the surrounding rocks on the bay where the local fishermen fish. At a beautiful sunset we left a relaxing day.

Praia do Malhão ist ein von einer Sanddüne umgebener Strand an der Atlantikküste im Südwesten Portugals. Er gehört zum ca. 75.000 ha großen Naturpark "Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina", welcher sich über eine Länge von ca. 80 km zwischen Porto Covo im Alentejo Litoral und Burgau, westlich von Lagos an der Algarve, erstreckt.

Wer dem Trubel und den Menschenmassen an den Stränden der Algarve in der Hochsaison entkommen möchte, findet hier nach ca. 90 Minuten Fahrzeit von Porches ein ruhiges und wunderschön gelegenes Fleckchen Erde wieder. Da dieser naturbelassene Strand inmitten des Naturparks liegt, gibt es hier auch keine Restaurants, Shops und dergleichen. Deutlich weniger Menschen verlieren sich an diesem Strand, so dass man hier wunderbar entspannen kann.

Ein auf den Dünen erbauter Holzsteg läd zu einem Spaziergang entlang des Strandes und zu den umliegenden Felsen an der Bucht ein, an welchem die einheimischen Fischer angeln. Bei einem herrlichen Sonnenuntergang ließen wir einen erholsamen Tag ausklingen.
