Have you ever seen a knitted flower?

This is the centre detail of a tiny flower -I picked one from my sisters garden, she said it was a scruffy little thing to take a photo of, so I pointed out the lovely pattern around the flower centre. Since I have started doing these extra close macros I am looking at things with quite a different eye.

I have been asked to share how I do these shots -I used the reverse lens technique mentioned Here and used my kit lens and an old pentax manual f 1.8 lens, -handheld face to face, you need lots of light and lots of patience. I focus by moving the camera in and out rather than using the autofocus, as I have said before the DOF is small but I don't mind too much as I like the abstract look it gives the photos.
