The Radiant of the Perseids 2016 / El radiante de las Perseidas 2016

Perseids 2016. Combination of  34 meteors from the Perseids meteor shower detected in 30 frames. All frames were taken with a CANON EOS 5D Mark III with a Samyang 14mm lens, 30 seconds exposure at f/2.8 and ISO 800. Frames were taken between 2:10 and 4:10 UTC 12 August 2016.

The star field was obtained using the frame obtained at 3:28 UTC. The 14 mm lens provides a very wide field of view (+90 degrees), from Lyra constellation and bright Vega (bottom left) to the Pleiades star cluster in Taurus (upper right), with the Milky Way crossing the field of view. Cassiopeia, the Perseus Double Cluster and the Andromeda galaxy are easily identified in the image.

The estimated ZHR (Zenithal Hourly Rate) between 2:39 and 4:11 UTC is ZHR = 44 meteors/hour.

Perseidas 2016. Imagen combinando las detecciones de 34 meteoros de la corriente de las Perseidas encontradas en 30 fotogramas. Todos los fotogramas se obtuvieron con una cámara CANON EOS 5D Mark III provista de un objetivo Samyang de 14 mm, 30 segundos de exposición a f/2.8 e ISO 800. Todas las imágenes se tomaron entre las 2:10 y las 4:10 UTC del 12 de agosto de 2016 desde el Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife).

El campo estelar se obtuvo usando el fotograma conseguido a las 3:28 UTC. El objetivo de 14 mm proporciona un campo de visión muy amplio (+90 grados), desde la constelación de Lira, con la brillante estrella Vega, abajo a la izquierda, hasta el cúmulo estelar de las Pléyades, en Tauro, en la esquina superior derecha, con la Vía Láctea cruzando el campo. Casiopea, el Doble Cúmulo de Perseo y la galaxia de Andrómeda destacan particularmente en la imagen.

La THZ (Tasa Horaria Zenital) estimada con las imágenes entre las 2:39 y las 4:11 UTC es de THZ = 44 meteoros/hora.
