This is Spirit.

Spirit is a wounded bald eagle who lives at the top of Mount Roberts in Juneau, Alaska, USA as an ambassador for the Juneau Raptor Center.

Spirit was tragically shot by a hunter with shotgun shot. The shot pierced her beak (note the extra hole) and blinded her in her left eye. The beak will heal, but the eye won't. She can't fly straight now, always turning left, and she therefore can't survive in the wild.

The Juneau Raptor Center has given her a home and cares for her.

At first, I had rather mixed emotions about this. After seeing these amazing animals fly all over Alaska, I imagined she could not possibly be happy in a cage.

Then, however, I Googled the Juneau Raptor Center and discovered what a good life she has, and I imagined that if we gave her a vote she would vote to live. Plus, the Juneau Raptor Center seems to do a superb job of rehabilitating other wounded raptors and getting them back in the wild, so Spirit's fundraising skills are helping a lot of other amazing creatures.

I also found out on that website that "Spirit" is only her stage name, and her real name is "Baltimore". I imagine if she could talk, she'd vote for "Spirit".
