Happy Accident - a photo on Flickriver

Happy Accident

            Built 44 years ago to this month, UP SD40N 2007 leads train GSHDPG south out of the siding at Block after meeting a northbound Z train. SD40Ns usually lead these grain trains down the Harvard Subdivision and get taken off the lead at Proviso, yet somehow this unit slipped through and continued to lead south out of Yard Center and down the Villa Grove and Salem Subdivisions. The engineer didn't mess around once getting out of Block. He was already near track speed by the time they reached Bongard, just 3 miles down the line.
