An Unexpected Landscape - a photo on Flickriver

            Third Place, Color Division - 2012 Oregon Salon of Photography.

Mount Rainier and Spirit Lake seen from the crater rim of Mount Saint Helens, Washington.  This scene is often an unexpected surprise for climbers when they reach the crater rim.  Getting here is a literal pain in the rear.  Someday, I would like to be here during the magic hours for some epic light.  It was a little hazy for my taste on this particular visit.
