Return to Mexican Hat - a photo on Flickriver

            A shot just before sunset in one of my favorite spots in the American southwest.  It was nice to return here after almost two years away, and to find nearly identical conditions, with a moonrise, deep blue sky, and all of the color in the desert landscape lit up in the warm light of the setting sun.  The permanence of places like this helps remind me of just how fleeting so much of the rest of life really is, and of the need to hold on to places like this, and to protect them.

Thank you very much for all of your kind comments and favorites.  As you can see, being buried in the snow here in the northeast these past few days has me thinking wistfully of summertime.
