Image taken along the Cuiaba River in Brazil. These rodents are very common and are the largest rodents in the world reaching four feet in length.. They grow on you the more you see them, and become rather cute in your mind's eye.

Family groups active during the day or night almost always along lakes and rivers, into which they dive to escape danger, moist forest, scrub woodlands, and flooded grasslands.
