Convento de las Dueñas.Salamanca - a photo on Flickriver

            El convento de Santa María fue fundado en 1419 por Doña Juana Rodriguez Maldonado con la intención de que sirviera de beaterio para el retiro espiritual de las señoras nobles.De  ahí viene el nombre de Convento de las Dueñas.En 1533 se construyó el templo y el magnífio claustro de planta pentagonal que consta de dos alturas.En la superior , los capiteles son   de fantasía y de gran variedad , y en las enjutas fueron grabados  monstruos y grutescos.La foto está tomada en la planta superior , desde donde podemos contemplar la catedral.
 
The convent of Santa Maria was founded in 1419 by Doña Juana Rodriguez Maldonado intended to serve as a pious retreat for the ladies nobles.De hence the name of Convent Dueñas.En 1533 he built the temple and the superb Tuesday cloister plant consisting of two pentagonal alturas.En the top, the capitals are of imagination and variety, and the spandrels were monsters and sheaves grutescos.La picture was taken upstairs, where we can see the cathedral .
