            Portsmouth Incinerator Sunset.

I know the city incinerator is not exactly a romantic sunset shot, but the light on the smoke plumes was magical with the strong sidelighting as the sun dropped over the Solent.

Temperatures were at freezing as there was no cloud cover and I grabbed a few shots and got back into the warm car. 

Wimp? Yes, 100%

The smoke plumes over the city are closely monitored for pollution, density and content on a daily basis due the very dense population in Portsmouth.

The water in the middle of the image is that of the Solent (and is actually 4.5 miles wide) and the land mass on the horizon is the Isle of Wight.
