Explore L'enfant bulle ! [Explored 21/01/2018] #1

            Tous les ans entre les mois de Janvier et Février a lieu, à Saint Malo, une fête foraine, la Sainte Ouine, qui fait le plaisir des petits et des grands!

La Sainte-Ouine tient ses origines à l’époque de la chapelle Sainte-Marie-du-Laurier, construite sur le Grand Bé (les premières traces de l’existence de cette chapelle datent de 1360). Elle fût renommée en chapelle Saint-Ouen, archevêque de Rouen. A partir du XVème siècle, les malouins l’appelèrent alors chapelle Sainte-Ouine.

Les Malouins célébrèrent depuis, chaque dimanche de la Passion, sur le Grand Bé, la Sainte-Ouine, en mangeant en quelques heures l’économie de plusieurs mois (on parle de « faire la petite Sainte-Ouine »).

A partir de 1927, les premiers manèges font leur apparition pour accompagner le départ des Terre-Neuvas.

Aujourd’hui, cette réunion populaire, devenue laïque, se déroule sous la forme d’une fête foraine sur les quais du port de Saint-Malo.
