The inner core of the elephant baby's defence

            Notice how one of the two flanking matriarchs is holding the
frisky baby tightly between her tusk and trunk while leaning inward to strengthen the formation. The other young elephant can be seen beside the baby. Other elephant legs in bracing positions in the rear give almost the look of a tripod to the base of this defensive formation.
