Mount Rainier Coming Up Over the Rise (Black & White, Mount Rainier National Park)

            One of the things I've slowly learned over the years was appreciating how I sometimes capture too much of that empty sky above in my nature/landscape type images. I've read techniques in minimizing that. As I came over this rise in Mount Rainier National Park, I didn't have to think about that. Mount Rainier was big...right in front of me and so wonderful to take in! That's what I wanted to capture with this image. The jagged and rugged peaks of this stratovolcano with the glaciers and moraines spreading out across its summit and sides. I later converted to Black & White using Capture NX2 as I felt it brought out better tonal contrasts.
