Ain't No Sunshine

I captured this shot of a street musician in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter one afternoon playing guitar, and singing Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine.  There was a resigned despair about him as he sang that made me wonder of his life and when his sunshine had gone.  We eventually tipped him and went our separate way, leaving him in the shadow of that street corner.  I hope that his sunshine comes back, and hasn’t gone to stay….
