Smokin fastball - a photo on Flickriver

Smokin fastball

            My first attempt using smoke and the illusion of motion.  I used an empty toilet paper tube, setting it upright, I lit three incense cones inside the base of the tube, on top of the cone were 3 paper clips, the baseball was set atop the three paper clips. I used a remote speedlight (yn565ex) triggered by the Nikon CLS. The speedlight was aimed at the smoking incense plume. ( i wish I could say it was my idea, but I have seen it many times on flickr and wanted to give it a try). The photo was then rotated 90 degrees so the smoke appeared to be on a horizontal plain.
