The Grot or Grotto at Rydal Beck in the grounds of Rydal Hall.

 Grade II listed and built in 1668 as a window to view the waterfall on Rydal Beck.

Taken from the bridge above and not the aspect I wanted. I tried to get down the bank on the right but it was treacherous. Piddling down, muddy and wet slippery leaves just waiting to send me down into the torrent below. 

Water levels are very high here in the Lake District and the streams are just raging. Heaven help tomorrow as there is a severe weather warning in place for rain!!
